Friday 3rd February

Wow! What a busy week we've had in Bumblebee Class!

Our Reception and Year One children have been busy building, stacking, climbing and rolling with, on and over the soft play equipment.  They have also been out enjoying some sunshine on the bikes and playground equipment.  In class, they have been learning about penguins and other animals that live in the polar regions.

Our Year One children have been busy cooking again this week.  They practised their cutting skills when making cheese and leek muffins and enjoyed making soda bread (Please take a look at the Butterflies blog for more photos).  In Maths, they have been learning to double numbers and have used this to help them work out near doubles.

Our Year Two children have continued their learning about multiplication and division.  The used objects to makes groups and used this to help them write the accompanying calculations.  They have also had fun in PE, climbing on the various equipment, balancing and jumping off safely.  In Music, they have been learning how to drum on chairs and in History, they had a visit from  the Trowbridge Museum who came into school to tell the children all about Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole. (Please visit Fireflies, Beetles and Ladybirds blogs to see more pictures of the workshop).
