This week the children have enjoyed listening to the story, ‘The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch’. The children acted out the story at the beginning of the week and thought about what they would have for lunch if they were a lighthouse keeper. The children have enjoyed finding out information about Lighthouses. In the creative area the children were able to create lighthouses using different media.

In our Maths learning this week, we have consolidated our understanding of Numbers to 20. The children enjoyed taking part in a balancing bridge activity after watching an episode of Numberblocks. To get across the bridges the children had to think of numbers that add together to make different two-digit numbers. On Friday, the children had fun playing a dice game and practising their addition skills by working out the total on two dice.

On Friday the children had the opportunity to make their own jam sandwiches. They could sequence the instructions for making a sandwich and enjoyed eating them as a picnic in class.

We were very excited by the emergence of a Butterfly on Friday!! We hope that on Monday we will have more butterflies.
