Grand Galleries for our Glorious Grandparents

Welcome back Butterflies.  We have had a wonderful week of learning all about money, materials and their properties.  The children have been learning to recognise and understand the value of each coin as well as the different notes that we use.  In our science lessons we have been finding out about the names of materials and their properties.  Is it waterproof or absorbent?  Can it bend or is it rigid?  Is it shiny or dull?  The children were then able to apply their new knowledge at our wonderful Grandparent event this afternoon.  The children had lots of fun finding different properties of materials to use to decorate Elmer the patchwork elephant with.  They were then able to take their Grandparents into the hall to enjoy looking  around our grand gallery of beautiful pictures, created by the children.  THANK YOU SO SO  MUCH to all of the grandparents or parents who were able to support us today. I know how much the children appreciated you coming to share in their learning and we enjoyed the pleasure of your company too.  If you were unable to attend this afternoon then here are some pictures for you to enjoy.
