Great Glow Worms!

Glow Worm class have had a great week of learning. They have been historians, mathematicians, writers, readers and artists. It has been amazing to see!

We concluded our learning of Isambard Kingdom Brunel this week, the children had to remember what they had learned to answer the question: Who was Isambard Kingdom Brunel and why are his achievements remembered?
We used the 'Time Box', containing pictures, to discuss what we now know about him and what he designed/ made in our local area. The children really impressed me with their knowledge and understanding!

In maths, we have been focusing on addition and subtraction. The children used a number line for subtraction, answering questions in pairs to see that when we take away, numbers get smaller. Then, the children had to add and subtract from a group of objects and use a number line. The children had to use the signs + and - to know what the question was asking them to do.

In RE, we looked at the Christmas story. The children learned that Christians celebrate Jesus' birth at this time of year. They retold the story by creating puppets for the people and animals in the story and then wrote an important part of the story in their books. They had a lot of fun doing this!

Well done Glow Worms, keep up the hard work.
