Half Term is Here!
It was wonderful to see so many of you at our parent event this week. The children have fully embraced the History topic and have loved learning about Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole. We have looked at their lives, how they changed nursing, their role in society and why they are remembered. We had a super time making medals and think about who we were making the medal for and significant pictures that could go onto them. The children used the skills of their nurse knowledge to help write a recount about the visitors from Trowbridge museum
During Maths, the children have been looking at odd and even numbers. We used counters to show that two odd numbers will always be even, two even numbers will make an even number but an odd and an even number will always make an odd number. We had to use 9 frames for the first time and they were very funny. Year 1 children have been revising making fact families and Year 2 consolidating their multiplication and division skills.
We break up on Friday for half term and return on Monday 19th February. Children will need PE kit on Wednesday and Friday. Mrs Millard will be in class all day on Friday.
