Halfway Through!

This week has been positively AMAZING! It was so great to welcome you all in for the parent event on Monday afternoon. The children really enjoyed sharing their learning with you and making the medals. Thank you all for coming in. We really do appreciate your support. We are now officially halfway through the year!

The are a whole host of photos to share with you from our learning. During PE sessions, the children have been focusing on their balances using the large apparatus. It has been wonderful to watch their confidence grow.

As part of their music, the children have been taking part in ‘Chair Drumming’. It has been rather loud but great fun. Mrs Ibbeken loved teaching this as she was a musician previous to teaching! The children were thinking about keeping the pulse and following the instructions!

During our maths sessions we are continuing to teach our block on multiplication and division. We have looked at doubling and halving, odd and even numbers moving on to the 10 times table.

The week was completed with our Ofsted celebration event, the children came to school in non-school uniform, had a visit to Mrs Budge’s ice-cream factory and had a performance from a surprise visitor (photos will be uploaded as soon as I have access to the iPad!!).

After half term we are lucky enough to have a new teaching student joining us. Miss Griffin will be working with Firefly class until June. Miss Smith leave us to return to her school in Bath, she has been a wonderful asset to the class and really accelerated the children’s reading skills. Mrs Russam will be in class Monday – Thursday and Mrs Ibbeken on Friday.

Have a great holiday.
