Honeybee Class Friday 12th September
Our First Week
What a fantastic first full week we’ve had in Honeybee Class! The children have settled into our daily routines beautifully. They’ve been amazing at following instructions, working hard, and showing such lovely sharing and playing alongside one another. Well done, Honeybees!
Story Time
Our sensory story this week was a firm favourite – We’re Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen. The children loved swishing through grass, splashing in the cold river, squelching in the sticky mud, and stumbling in the dark forest. Everyone got really involved and had so much fun exploring each part of the story. We even made our own bears, sequenced the story, and matched pictures to the different parts.
Math's Fun
In math's, the children have been showing us what they already know through games, Numicon, the use of counting bears, shape play, and counting songs. They’ve really impressed us with their counting skills, knowledge of shapes, and ordering of numbers.
Bucket Time & Phonics
During our Attention Bucket sessions, the children showed brilliant self-control, even when very tempting items appeared from the bucket! We’ve also been learning letter sounds in some very exciting (and messy!) ways.
Topic & PE
In our topic sessions we’ve been out and about around our school, using picture clues to help us find different areas. In PE, we’ve been practising listening carefully to instructions and stopping and going when asked — plus, we’ve discovered we have some fantastic dancers in our class!
We are so proud of all our Honeybees. Our youngest children have settled in so well, and our returning Honeybees have been amazing role models. What a brilliant start to the year!
Have a wonderful weekend all, we look forward to seeing you all on Monday!
