Honeybee Class Friday 13th June
This week in class, we dove into the beautiful story of The Rainbow Fish. The children were inspired by the vibrant colors and shimmering scales of the Rainbow Fish and expressed their creativity by making their own stunning illustrations. Using ink dabbers and shiny textured paper, the children brought the story to life with bright, eye-catching artwork that truly captured the magic of the Rainbow Fish’s world.
After creating their masterpieces, we sequenced the story together to understand the flow of events and how the Rainbow Fish’s feelings changed throughout the tale. The children shared insightful thoughts on moments when the Rainbow Fish felt proud, lonely, and happy. We also reflected deeply on the important message of sharing. We talked about how sharing not only helps others feel valued and cared for but also brings joy to the person who shares. Many of the children gave personal examples of times when they shared something special with friends or family and how it made them feel good inside.
In math's, we focused on number recognition and counting out totals accurately. The children practiced carefully counting objects and checking their totals, showing great improvement and growing confidence each day. We are very proud of how confidently they are tackling these skills!
Our current topic is The Seaside, and the children have had a wonderful experience creating a plane right in our classroom! They enjoyed flying to different seaside destinations, taking on roles such as pilot, flight attendants, and passengers. Everyone listened carefully to the sounds of the engine as they took off. I wonder where we will go next?
Have a wonderful weekend all!
