Honeybee Class Friday 14th November
This week in Honeybee Class, we have been learning all about Remembrance and the importance of the poppy. The children discovered that different poppies are used to remember the people and animals who have served and helped to keep us safe.
We started the week with a wonderful sensory story, which everyone enjoyed, followed by short documentaries about Remembrance throughout the week. Alongside this, the children took part in a range of creative activities including painting large poppies, making poppy playdough, poppy printing, and decorating our windows with beautiful poppy collages. Well done, Honeybees—your creativity has been amazing!
In maths, we focused on 2D shapes, especially circles and triangles. The children compared them, sorted them, described their properties, and went on shape hunts around the classroom. They showed fantastic understanding and even created their own pictures using circles and triangles. Brilliant work, everyone!
In our topic sessions, we enjoyed keeping to a beat using percussion instruments such as shakers and tambourines. The children showed great listening skills and rhythm.
During PE, the class had a wonderful time tackling an obstacle course made of higher and lower climbing equipment. They demonstrated excellent balance, coordination, and confidence—so impressive to see!
Honeybees, you have worked incredibly hard this week. What superstars you all are!
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend!
