Honeybee Class - Friday 27th June 2025
Pirates, Maths, and a Colourful Adventure!
This week in class, the children have dived into the exciting world of The Night Pirates, a wonderful story that sparked their creativity and imagination. The children thoroughly enjoyed becoming pirates themselves — making treasure maps, dressing up in pirate costumes, and discovering hidden treasures aboard their very own pirate ship. Their enthusiasm and creativity really brought the story to life!
In maths, the focus was on accurately making totals up to 20. The children explored different ways to represent numbers using Numicon shapes, blocks, stamping, and even playdough! This hands-on approach helped solidify their understanding of numbers in a fun and engaging way.
Attention Bucket sessions have been a real hit this week. It’s been a joy to watch the children engage with pirate-themed bowls filled with treasure, coins, and ocean animals coming to life. This activity linked beautifully with our knowledge and understanding of which animals live on the land and which live in the ocean — and why. It sparked thoughtful conversations with the children, showing their curiosity and growing awareness. Well done, Honeybee Class!
Our highlight of the week was the much-anticipated Colour Run! Despite the warm weather, the children showed great determination and energy, giving their best in every lap. We want to extend a big thank you to all parents for your fantastic support and sponsorship — it truly made the event special and memorable for everyone involved.
We look forward to another week of learning and fun adventures ahead!
