It's almost Spring!

We've had a busy week in Honeybees class this week focusing on the seasons and Spring in particular. We have learnt that trees start to blossom, new flowers bud and baby animals are born. The children looked at signs that Spring is on its way and created their own blossom trees, flowers and baby lambs.

In math's this week we have been looking at weight and using mathematical language to describe weight. The children weighed vegetables and fruit and used the words heavy, light, heaviest and lightest. The children then went on to find their own items to compare from around the classroom and became really confident at using the correct language to describe what the weighing scales showed them. Well done Honeybees!

In writing this week we have been working hard to use the Read Write Inc rhymes to help us remember how to form letters. We have used a range of media to help us and we are starting to see the children use these rhymes without prompt which is just fantastic.

We have also had great fun in our Bucket sessions this week as the children watched wiggly worms appear from flower pots, Spring themed mirror images made with sparkly glitter and giant flowers made with a range of media.

Can we just say a huge thank you to parents that have donated wellies to our classes, this has really helped as as you know we like to get outside in all weathers.

Please can I ask that you provide your child with a couple of changes of clothes as we try our hardest to ensure they don't get wet, however we do at times need to change them and we only have a limited amount of spare clothes. Thank you so much.

Well done Honeybees, have a wonderful weekend!
