Honeybees Friday 12th December

What a wonderful week we’ve had in Honeybee Class! We kicked things off with a wintry tale, Stick Man by Julia Donaldson. The children thoroughly enjoyed listening to the story and enthusiastically joined in with the repeated phrases. After reading the story regularly, they used their developing reading skills to find characters and key items within the illustrations, sequence the events of the story, and create their own pictures of Stick Man and his family.

In maths this week, our learning focused on shape. The children were confident in identifying and naming basic 2D shapes, particularly four-sided shapes, and enjoyed creating their own pictures using a range of 2D shapes.

Our afternoons were filled with excitement as we practised and performed our Christmas plays. Each day, the children grew in confidence, and it was a real highlight to watch our wonderful Year 1 and 2 children perform so proudly for their grown-ups on Friday.

What a fantastic way to end such a Christmassy week! Well done, Honeybee Class, and have a lovely weekend everyone. 🎄✨
