Honeybees Friday 19th April 2024

Welcome back! We hope everybody had a fun filled break. We have had a wonderful first week back in Honeybees Class with the children settling back into school life well.

We have kick started our new topic On the Farm with a new story by Julia Donaldson called, 'What the ladybird heard.' The children have learnt about farm animals, what animals belong on the farm, painted their own animals and enjoyed cleaning very muddy animals throughout the week. They were fantastic at recalling repeated parts of the story and discussing what they think would happen next.

In math's this week we have been focusing on ordinal numbers. The children learnt what the terms 1st, 2nd and 3rd meant and enjoyed racing a range of animals and giving the winner, or the animal that came 1st a very special silver trophy.

In PE this week we have started our terms learning around ball skills. This weeks lesson saw the children learn to control the ball carefully moving in around their bodies, keeping it close and controlled. They demonstrated excellent listening skills and followed instructions well.

It has been really special this week watching our children help each other, take turns, share and play so cooperatively with their friends. We are so proud of of them all, well done Honeybees!

Next week:

Tuesday - PE will now be on a Tuesday. Please can all children come to school wearing their PE kit.

Wednesday - Trip to The Wild Place. The children can wear their own clothes and will need a back back to carry their lunch in. We will be leaving promptly after registration and be returning for 4pm. If we are running late we will notify you via social media.
