Honeybees Friday 23rd May
We’ve had a fantastic week in Honeybee Class, filled with teamwork and resilience!
Our week began with a focus on minibeasts. In English, we read Superworm by Julia Donaldson. The children loved spotting all the different minibeasts in the illustrations and enthusiastically joined in with the story’s repeated phrases, showing fantastic listening skills. We explored how minibeasts move, where they live, and what they look like. The children showed excellent body control as they wriggled, jumped, crawled, and slithered—just like the creatures in the story!
In Maths, our focus was on comparing numbers. The children created different totals and used their understanding to explain which total was more than, less than, or equal to another.
The children also thoroughly enjoyed our Attention Bucket sessions this week. They watched giant bubble snakes grow, wriggly worms paint, sparkly spider webs spin, and bugs take a bath! These sessions showcased their wonderful listening, observing, and turn-taking skills.
A huge thank you to all the parents who came to support us at Sports Day. The children had a brilliant time taking part in all the activities. They worked together beautifully, showing great resilience and respect for one another.
Well done, Honeybee Class—have a wonderful break!
