Honeybees Friday 2nd May

What a lovely sunny week we have had in Honeybee Class!

We have been very excited this week to become explorers and have travelled to Space! We have learnt about space, that the people that travel to space are called astronauts, that they must wear space suites because there is no oxygen on the moon. The children have also had a close look at the moon and what it looks like and what can be found on it.

The children enjoyed making moon buggies from construction resources, they explored moon sand and made fantastic moon paintings by mixing colours needed and used a range of brushes and stampers to create texture for their moon. Their paintings were beautiful! We will be continuing our Space theme next week and hopping aboard our rockets to explore other planets in our solar system.

In maths this week we have been continuing our focus on accurate counting from a larger amount. The children have been focusing on numbers up to 20 and they have shown fantastic accuracy, well done Honeybee Class.

In PE we have begun our practicing for Sports Day. The children have enjoyed learning new games in preparation such as throwing, running and relay races.

Have a fantastic extended weekend all, we will see you on Tuesday!
