How do we stay fit and healthy?

This week we have continued to learn about what animals and humans need to stay alive and how they can stay fit and healthy.  We carried out an experiment to find out what happened to our pulse after exercise and found out that your heart beats much faster.  Your breathing becomes quicker too and you can become hot and sweaty.  This is because your body (muscles) needs more oxygen as you exercise and so your heart has to work harder to pump the blood around your body.

We also talked about the importance of hygiene and used glitter to find out how germs are spread easily when we do not keep ourselves clean.  We then looked at ways to prevent  germs from spreading through washing our hands, taking a bath or shower, washing our clothes and cleaning our teeth.

In music this week, we made our own musical instruments out of old bottles and rice, paper plates and elastic bands and out of boxes or old pots.  We had a great time and really enjoyed playing out instruments in fronts of others.

It has been a busy and fun-filled week in Zebras.  Please take a look at the photographs attached.
