Kangaroo Class Trip November 2026

From Little City to Big Sirens: A Double Dose of Fun and Learning!

What an exciting day it was for Kangaroo Class! The children were absolutely thrilled to be heading out on their school outing, and their excitement could be felt from the moment they arrived at school.

In the morning, we visited Little City, a wonderful role-play experience where the children had the chance to step into different jobs and explore the world of work. They loved pretending to be mechanics fixing cars, busy postal workers sorting and delivering letters, and important members of the emergency services helping people in need. Some children became builders, others worked in the supermarket, while a few got creative making pizzas. There were also little doctors and vets caring for patients and animals — and the beauty salon was a big hit too, with children styling hair and applying pretend make-up! It was such a fun and engaging way to learn more about the different roles in our community and how everyone helps to make it a great place to live.

After lunch, the adventure continued with a walk to the local fire station. The children were buzzing with excitement as they learned all about the role of a firefighter and explored the impressive fire engine. They even got to see inside and discover all the special equipment firefighters use to keep people safe. The firefighters showed us how everything works and turned on the sirens – which were very loud! Those who wanted to had a turn using the hose to spray Mr Brewer, Miss Adlam and one of our parent Volunteers, which caused lots of laughter and smiles all around.

To finish off the day, we had a fun quiz to check what we had learned about fire safety and how to stay safe in an emergency. Everyone remembered the all-important number to call – 999! The children were delighted to receive a sticker, a special certificate, and a light-up keychain as a reward for their fantastic participation and enthusiasm.

A huge thank you goes to the amazing fire service for welcoming us so warmly and giving the children such a memorable experience. We would also like to say a big thank you to our wonderful parent volunteers who helped us walk safely to and from the fire station. A special thank you also goes to Claire from Little City for making the morning such a fun, engaging, and inspiring experience for all the children.

It truly was an amazing day full of learning, laughter, and teamwork – one that Kangaroo Class will remember for a long time!
