Term Three; Week Four

We began this week looking into the celebration of Luna new year. The children explored the story of the animal’s race to name the years and discovered that most of them were born in the year of the Dog (2018). As a class we dressed up as a dragon and paraded the reception classes. We went on to have a go at writing Mandarin numbers and making new year lanterns.

Later in the week we started our new topic with the book Lost and Found that begins our exploration of Winter and the Poles.

As a class we packed a suitcase to go on an expedition to the south pole. We packet our warm cloths, ski goggles, a packed lunch and a camera to take pictures with.

Together we have made some amazing art inspired by looking at pictures of the south pole.
