Maths and Weather!

What another fantastic week in Firefly class. We have been working really hard in maths. We started the week using apparatus to make 3 different numbers. The children then had to order the numbers from the smallest to the greatest. Then we moved on to counting in steps of 2, 5, 10 and 3s! First, we had to use apparatus to make patterns, then we drew the pictures and finally we had a go at finishing the patterns in our books. The super mathematicians spotted different patterns and had to prove what they had discovered!

As part of our Geography topic on the weather, we went outside and began cloud watching. we were describing what we could see. Once we had completed our work we had a go at using the playdough to make different weather symbols and pretended we were weather forecasters and presented the weather to our class!

Parents evening takes place on Tuesday 11th October and Wednesday 12th October so you are able to make appointments from Monday. I will pop out with the list both before and after school.

Next Wednesday we are on our school trip to Westonbirt Arboretum. We will leave school at 9.15 and return before the end of the day. Children will need a backpack to carry their lunch, spare clothes, welly boots or other suitable footwear and spare clothes.

Miss McMillan will be in class next Friday as normal.
