New Topics!

What a wet and windy week in Firefly class! This week has seen the start of new topics in both Science and Maths.

In Science we have started to look at who lives on Earth and how they survive. We have started by looking at how animals are born and their babies. We discovered that some animals don’t look like their parents! Then we looked at how we change as we grow and our different needs.

As part of our maths learning we have started a topic on 2D shapes. We investigated the difference between 2D and 3D shapes and hunted for them around the classroom. We then had a go at counting the sides and vertices followed by making them using cocktail sticks.

We have been very lucky to have a delivery of our new star book – The River. Have a look and see if you can find it. We think it’s great.

Next week Firefly class will have a supply teacher on Thursday and Friday while Mrs Russam has her release time.

Have a great weekend.
