Panda's Victorian Visit

Panda class have had a fantastic week continuing to learn about Florence Nightingale in History.  The Trowbridge Museum came to talk to the children about Florence Nightingale and they enjoyed learning about who she was and why she was so famous.  Why don’t you ask your child to tell you something they have learnt so far?  I bet they will have lots to tell you.  We have also learnt about another famous person called Mary Seacole and how she made her own medicines.

In English this week, we have been continuing with poetry.  The children have written two poems about their lovely Mummy’s. They tried really hard and have written some lovely poems.  In music, we have listened to a live concert playing the famous piece of music, Bolero by Maurice Ravel.  We learnt about the role of a composer and had a go at picking out different musical instruments. In PE this week, we have been practicing different ways of rolling.

Don’t forget after half term, Panda class start swimming on Tuesday afternoon.  The first session is 20th February. If you would like to help, please let us know.  We already have three volunteers but the more the merrier in case one of our parent helpers can’t make it one week. The children will need to bring into school a swimming costume/trunks and a towel please in a bag each Tuesday.

Please continue to log into Oxford Owl and practice the reading and quiz at home. If you need support with this please let us know.

Have a lovely weekend!
