Performing Pandas
We have had another hot week but the children are remembering to wear their hats, apply sun cream and find a shandy area to chill in when needed. Not long to go until the end of term!
This week Panda Class have enjoyed learning about position and direction in maths. We have been using left and right, above and below, forwards and backwards and half and quarter turns to describe the different directions we can move in. We have thought carefully about needing to know which direction the object is facing BEFORE you can work out the direction the object is going to be moving in.
In English this week we have continue to use the story The Building Boy to think about using adjectives to describe a characters appearance or personality and also using inference clues to say what is happening or how we know Grandma is feeling proud by the way she is standing and the expression on her face. All of our sentence level work this week has been in preparation for writing their own stories next week.
In PE this week the children were pretending to be toys from a toy box that had come to life and were fantastic at moving like robots, bouncy balls, tambourines or planes. They thought about linking 3 actions together and how they needed to have a start and finish position so that the audience would know when the dance has begun and finished.
In Music we have continued to have fun with sound, learning to experiment with different instruments to see what sound they made and performing a variety of songs to sing with each other. Whilst at times it was a little noisy, the children tried really hard to play in time with the song and vary the tempo and loudness of their playing. They had lots of fun together and shared the instruments well.
Have a wonderful weekend. x
