Races and Transition for Glow Worms

This week was one full of excitement and nerves, as the children had their transition afternoons in their new classes. It was great to hear about all of the lovely activities they did and how much they are looking forward to September.

Glow Worms worked hard in PE to practise races for Sports Day. The children did amazing at encouraging each other in each race and speeding to the finishing line.

In maths, we continued with 'Time'. The children compared the length of time of seconds, minutes and hours before learning about O'Clock and half past. They recognised what time was shown, before having a go at making the time themselves on small clocks. At the end of the week, the children answered questions to show their understanding of the unit and then played a game to link it all together.

In our one lesson of history this week, we continued 'The Great Fire of London' and focused on why the fire spread so quickly. They children did well to think back to our visit to Lacock and use pictures to think of reasons to answer the question.

NOTE:

Mrs Watts will be taking Glow Worm class on Wednesday morning, with Miss McMillan returning for the afternoon.
