Spectacular Scientists!

It has been another busy week in Giraffe Class. We have continued exploring all of the different materials around us. We were challenged to build the tallest tower BUT we could only use one type of material. Some people managed to get them really tall. There was some great problem solving going on. Then we had to investigate which materials we would use to make an umbrella thinking about how to record our results.

As part of our English we have been writing a diary as ‘John’ a little boy who was alive during the fire and lost his cat. Thankfully he found him along with 3 beautiful kittens!

In Maths we have continued to consolidate our knowledge of telling the time. We have been looking at quarter past and quarter to and writing these and reading them on a clock.

Next week we will be going on our school trip to Lacock, looking at the style of houses. These are similar to those that were in the London at the time of the great fire. The children will need to have their school jumper, comfy trousers and shoes. A small bag is handy for them to carry their lunch in. We will be leaving just after the register at 9.05 and returning in time for the end of school. It is going to be a wonderful trip.
