Spring Sunshine and wonderful weather reports

It has been lovely to see Butterflies come back with such super attitudes to learning.  This week we have been thinking about how the weather has changed now that it is Spring and we created a pictogram to show how the length of day changes according to each season.  We have also been finding out how animals adapt to the different seasons; bears, hedgehogs, door mice and bees come out of hibernation.  Lots of animals have their babies in Spring when the weather starts to get warmer and there is more food available to feed them with.  The Children enjoyed presenting their own weather forecast and  I think we have some great presenters in the making.

In  Maths we have been learning to count in groups of 2s or 10s and today began to try and apply our learning to solve number problems.  Maybe you could try and create some of you own at home.  For example, There are 5 tins with 10 sweets in each.  Jack has 60 friends coming to his party.  Has he got enough sweets for them each to have one? Explain your answer.                                                                                                                  Our RE this term is to learn about what Jewish people believe and to find out about some of the festivals that they celebrate.  Today started to find out about Hanakkah, festival of light and learn about the significance of the 8 candles on a menorah.
