Super Sports Day and Terrific Tangrams

Hooray! Sports day got to go ahead on our second attempt and the rain held off.  The children had lots of fun cheering each other on, taking part in races and learning about showing great sportsmanship. Only one person can ever win a race but its important to give everyone a chance to shine and to learn how to be  gracious in defeat. Well done Butterfly class you were amazing and showed great determination, resilience, perseverance and great team spirit.

This week we have also had fun exploring 2D shapes and how to solve problems using 2D shapes.  Daisy was super speedy at solving the puzzle and Lewis and Esmay was fab at creating Tangram pictures.  Tangrams is a deceptively simple set of seven geometric shapes made up of 5 triangles of different sizes, a square, and a parallelogram.  When the pieces are arranged together you can create an amazing variety of pictures.  Why not have a go at home.

Today is my last day with Butterfly Class.  Thank you for all working so hard this year and trying your best.  Always remember YOU CAN DO IT!  But only if you try so never give up.  Remember Edison made 1,000 unsuccessful attempts to make a light bulb before he created one that worked.  We only learn through making mistakes so keep trying, keep smiling, keep believing.  YOU are ALL amazing and it has been a pleasure teaching you this year.  Thank you for all of your lovely gifts and messages.  Have a wonderful Summer - Don't forget to come to school on Monday and Tuesday, your term is not finished yet! x
