This week in Millipedes - Term Two; Week Two

This week we have continued our exploration of woodland. We have investigated what woodlands are, who and what lives there and all the different plants we can find there!

The books this week has been The Gruffalo, the Gruffalo’s child and the stick man! These have given the children a great insight into the lives of woodlands creatures, real and fictitious, leading to some amazing investigation from the children into other animal of the woods.

On Tuesday the children had a supply teacher, and she was made to feel so welcome? I’m so proud of the millipedes for being so well behaved for a new teacher!

This week we had our trip to Moore’s Valley (see pics below). The trip was an amazing experience, for staff and children, taking us deep into the woods down an adventure trail!

There were many structures for the children to climb on and in and Gruffalo story characters statues along the way.

The week ended the children making their own poppies for Remembrance Day and our school photos.

In Read Write Inc we have continued working in smaller focused groups mixing children between the three reception classes.
