Warminster Park Trip

We had a great trip to Warminster Park this week. The children loved going on the train and looking through the window at the passing scenery. Once we arrived at the park we were met by the Park Keeper who showed us how to scatter the wild seeds in the flower beds. There were lots of seeds in the mixture and we all got a chance to scatter some seeds before he then raked it over. If you go to the park in the summer you will have to look out for our beautiful wild seed flower boarder. We then did some observational drawings in the park and played a scavenger hunt game. In their groups the children had to take a picture of the tallest tree, a shiny leaf, a spiky plant and stretch their arms around the biggest trunk.

The trip bought to life all the things we had been talking about in our classes about deciduous and evergreen trees, it also gave us an opportunity to look at what was growing in our local environment. By the end of the trip we had walked over 1500 steps!!

We have our Easter service next Friday, if there are any parents that would be able to walk with us please could you let us know so we can add you to our risk assessment.
