Week 2!

What another busy week in Giraffe Class. The children are really getting into the swing of the routines in the class and they are becoming so independent and rising to new expectations.

Giraffe - 2

This week has seen the children become police officers as part of our English work. They had to interview each other about finding a Bog Baby. They were fantastic at talking in sentences and making up super questions.

As part of our Maths we have been looking at numbers written as words, matching these on a tens frame, using place value charts. We have been making towers to ‘count on’ and partitioned numbers using part-whole models.

In Science we have been looking at habitats. This week we looked at local habitats such as the coast, ponds, woodlands and urban areas. We then moved on to looking at microhabitats and went around the school grounds to see what we could discover.

Giraffe class were the first class to begin their swimming. The children had a wonderful time in the pool and listened well to the teachers Rick and Abigail. Next week to make changing easier, please send the children to school in their PE kit on a swimming day.

Please have a look at some of the photos of our learning this week, some of them have been taken by the children so might be a little fuzzy!

All children will need to have a pair of slippers in school as no outdoor shoes are permitted,.

Next week Mrs Watts will be in class on Friday.
