Week 3 - complete!

Autumn is certainly on it’s way. The wet weather has certainly arrived this week! You may have heard about the excitement of the visitor we had this week when a bird decided to fly into the classroom and make itself quite at home!

The children have gone from strength to strength and are really getting used to the routines within the class and around the school. They have continued to excel in their Maths work ordering numbers and comparing their values. We have been using lots of different apparatus to show how we have found our answers. The children have been making number lines and matching the objects.

Science was all about poo! Don’t worry, it wasn’t real. The children were looking at whether an animal was a carnivore, herbivore or omnivore buy looking at what could be found in their poo! Really it was lots of playdough with added bits! The children had great fun being scientists and using their observational skills.

Next week you will notice two new faces in the class. Mr Cane and Miss Joyce are two PGCE students from Bath Spa and will be with us until February. They are training to be teachers and under my guidance will be taking on working with small groups, reading stories and intervention groups.

Swimming is going really well and the children really look forward to a Tuesday afternoon. Please can the children come to school in PE kits that afternoon – no tights and shoes they are able to take on and off easily! Please ensure the children are able to do laces as there are a lot of children in the class and we are on a tight schedule.

If you haven't plaid for the school trip, please log onto parent pay and complete the forms.

Mrs Watts will be in class on Thursday and Friday next week.

Have a great weekend.
