Welcome back to the final term!

Welcome back to the final term of Reception! We can’t believe it! The children have come back brilliantly and have enjoyed the start of our new topic ‘ Oh I do like to be beside the seaside’ They have enjoyed listening to the song and talking about beaches, what we might do there, features of a beach and what we would wear. They even created their own seaside’s using small world parts. Some of the children made 3D lighthouses and were able to talk about what lighthouses are used for and where we might find them. Keep an eye out for them on display when you come for the next celebration afternoon.

In drawing club this week we watched an animation called Portland Bill and the children enjoyed creating a new sea monster creature for their character and describing a lighthouse for their setting! In maths children have been exploring sharing and grouping as well as odds and evens.

Children worked exceptionally hard on their artwork ready for the grandparent which we hope you all enjoyed 😊 The children were exceptional and enjoyed sea themed arts and crafts including making a paper plate jellyfish, collaging a rainbow fish, cutting and sticking to create an ocean theme and finally making hand shaped fish on lollipop sticks. Well done everyone 😊
