Whales and the Whitehorse

19th of May

This week in Millipedes we have been captivated by whales. After reading a story about a whale at the start of the week the children became captivated by the biggest animal to have ever live, the blue whale. This resulted in some amazing writing on the subject of whales and the sea and some brilliant, watery art!

We also have had the pleasure of a local artist coming in to do some art with the children. Together they talked about the Westbury Whitehorse and were shown some of the artist art. Using chalk and paint the children created some masterpieces! Even Mr Horniman and Mrs Smith had a go!

The children are continuing in their RWI groups. I am currently taking purple group and the children are doing well with the new, more challenging, content! The RWI blog is really helpful for practicing at home. Follow the link below and select your child’s group, there you should find the relevant documents for that group should you wish to continue phonics learning at home.

If you have any questions regarding RWI please ask or see the link to the Read Write Inc Blog below.
