What a wonderful year - well done Marvellous Meerkats!
Dear Meerkat Class,
As this is the last blog of the year I am writing this one to you. You really are amazing! Such a kind, friendly, enthusiastic and respectful bunch of Meerkats - we could not have asked for a lovelier group of children to share learning with. Myself, Miss Smith and Mrs Allen are all so very proud of you and want to say a big ‘thank you’ to you for a wonderful year.
It really has been great fun, and for our Year 2s moving onto The Juniors - a brilliant two years – where has that time gone?! Looking back through the photos, you have all grown in height and wonder – such an inquisitive class. It has been an absolute pleasure being your teacher and I can’t quite believe all we have done and all you have achieved. Well done on all of your success’ – there is certainly lots to celebrate. We have shared so much, from stories to exploring new topics alongside all our maths and English, not forgetting all the songs we learnt and sang together – definitely my fondest memories will be of you all singing and dancing on a Monday afternoon!
This year, we have also enjoyed many trips together from all aboard the SS Great Britain to planting seeds in Warminster Park to Lacock. On each and every occasion, you all behaved so well – you are a credit to our school and to your families. I would also like to take the opportunity here to thank your parents and adults, for their continued support throughout the year and especially with their engagement with all of the parent events and trips. A big thank you to all who joined us on our trips (they could not go ahead without this support) and with our walks to swimming, around Westbury and to the church. It has been very much appreciated and we are very much looking forward to you joining us in class on Monday for our last parent event of the year.
Monday 21st July – 2.30 – 3.15pm Parent Celebration Event
I feel so lucky to have been your teacher and play a part in your learning journey. You truly are a special group of children! Each and every day you work together as a team, always showing kindness and respect to each other – upholding our school values in all you do. Keep this up, be it at WIS or the Juniors!
We have spoken about how hard it is going to be saying goodbye to the Year 2 children next week but we know that they are all so ready for the new adventures ahead. Good luck Year 2 Meerkats as you fly high into Year 3. I have already told your new teachers just how very lucky they are and they are very much looking forward to you joining them in Anning and Attenborough! Keep being ‘you’ and come back and visit us!
The Year 2 children have their Graduation Ceremony on Thursday 24th at 2.00pm. The event will be held at the school hall. We look forward to seeing you there.
I look forward to welcoming the Year 1 children back in September as the big Year 2s. They have already been practising some of the jobs, under the watchful eyes and guidance of the current Year 2 children and I know you will make our new children feel very welcome and part of the Marvellous Meerkat family.
I hope you all have a most wonderful summer break when it comes.
Best wishes,
Mrs Jeffery, Miss Smith and Mrs Allen
