Lovely learning at Lacock

We have had a great week this week starting our new history topic on the Great Fire of London in 1666.  We especially enjoyed our trip to Lacock where we looked at the different buildings, what materials were used to build them and similarities and differences between them and those we live in today. Lots of the houses were built using timber frames and the Abbey itself is over 800 years old crafted from stone. The children especially enjoyed looking at the cloister in the abbey which was used to film several scenes in the Harry Potter movies. Lots of fun learning took place in a very historic village full of old worldly charm.
