A marvellous Year for the Marvellous Meerkats!!

Dear Meerkat Class,

I am writing this final blog of the year to you. What a fun-packed year we have had – you have certainly embraced your name as the Marvellous Meerkats! Mrs Millard, Miss Smith, Miss Lloyd and I are so very proud of you all and would like to say a big ‘thank you’ for a truly wonderful year.

It has been an absolute pleasure being your teacher, and I can’t quite believe all we have done and all you have achieved. Well done on all of your successes – there is certainly lots to celebrate, as your reports show.

This year, we have also enjoyed many trips together, and on each and every occasion, you all behaved so well. You are a credit to our school and to your families. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank your parents and carers for their continued support throughout the year, especially for their involvement in our parent events and school trips. A big thank you to everyone who joined us on our trips – they could not have gone ahead without your support. It has been very much appreciated.

We say goodbye to our Year 2 children next week, knowing that they are all so ready for the new adventures ahead. Good luck, Year 2 Meerkats, as you fly high into Year 3. I have already told your new teachers just how very lucky they are, and they are really looking forward to welcoming you to Anning and Attenborough classes! Keep being ‘you’, and do come back and visit us!

I look forward to welcoming the Year 1 children back in September as the new Year 2s. Year 1 Meerkats, you have already shown that you are ready for your new role during our Move Up Afternoon, and I know you will make our new children feel very welcome and part of the Marvellous Meerkat family.
