Friday 25th November 2022
This week the children in Dragonflies class have turned into bakers and enjoyed whipping up some cupcakes as part of their maths learning. Throughout the week, the children have been investigating size, mass and capacity so the perfect way to finish the week was to follow a recipe where all the ingredients had to equal the weight of the egg. As the ingredients were added to the scales the children used words such as heavy, light, heavier, lighter and balanced to describe the position of the scales. The children had such a good time baking and were delighted when they got to taste the finished cakes.

In our topic sessions, the children have researched what animals live in a wood and we have started to think about where the animals might live in readiness for next week. We have started to get creative making animals from a range of media. This week the children had the opportunity to work with clay. They have moulded and sculpted animals that they might find in the woods.

On Friday, we were very excited to have a visit from Tyler the reading dog. The children had the opportunity to go out and read with Tyler.
Don’t forget to check out the RWI blog if you would like to support your child’s reading development. The videos will support your child to learn their sounds and their blending skills.
