Friday 9th December

Dragonflies have turned into performers this week as they have been busy rehearsing their nativity play ready to show next week. They have worked really hard to remember the words to lots of songs. We had a mini dress rehearsal on Friday and the children really enjoyed performing to KS1 and trying on their costumes.

This week we looked at the story of ‘The Three Little Pigs’. The children have had the opportunity to tell the story though using puppets and small world characters. We have continued our Read Write Inc sessions and the children are working really hard on blending sounds to read simple words. In our Maths sessions, the children have enjoyed practising their counting and subitising skills with a Christmas theme.

This week we have enjoyed creating lots of Christmas crafts ready to sell on Tuesday 13^th December at the Christmas Fair following the Nativity performance. We have painted log slices and made lollipop stars. For our final craft we made reindeer food and the children all made a Christmas wish as they prepared the recipe.

Dragonflies have had a very kind week thinking how to help others. Tinsel Twinkle our kindness elf enjoys writing us letters with how we can be kind to others in school.

The week ended with a lovely Christmas service at the church. The children listened attentively as the Christmas story was shared and enjoyed singing a few festive songs.

Next week, we have a very busy week with Performances and Christmas Lunch. We will also be looking at the ‘Stickman’ Story one of my favourites.
