Ship ahoy!

What a fantastic day we had yesterday at the SS Great Britain in Bristol. The children said they had the best day ever! They shared their learning and spoke about Isambard Kingdom Brunel all day long. Their behaviour was a credit to the school, and they all left with big smiles on their faces.

We looked around the bottom of the ship and looked carefully at the HUGE propeller, thinking about how it made the ship move. Then, we walked through a museum exhibiting all of Brunel's work. The children even spotted a few things they have been learning about!

Then we had lunch, followed by a tour of the ship itself. We looked at the design and layout. We could see a clear difference between the accommodation for rich and poor travellers.

Well done Glow Worms, it was great to share this learning experience with you!

Miss McMillan

NOTE: Miss McMillan will be in class on Wednesday.

Just a small reminder, all children need slippers in school, especially as the weather is getting colder and wet.
